Education Walsall are working to gather data to create area profiles in Walsall. The aims of the profiles are to inform planning and assist Education Walsall and schools to identify needs for children, young people and families.
The data will also:
- assist in planning provision in terms of children’s centres and extended schools / services and help to avoid duplication of services
- inform the 14 – 19 collaborative partnerships in geographical areas which are currently in consultation
- assist the local authority and the LSC in the process of drawing up Walsall’s 14-19 prospectus
- assist with the development of what the curriculum offer in knowing what facilities and providers are available and creating a curriculum that will benefit Walsall’s communities and economic regeneration
- ensure the children centres will be aligned easier with catchment areas and local facilities
- help to identify the distribution of 14-19 providers

Sustainable Community Strategy:
SPIR presented a range of statistics at the Sustainable Community Strategy (SCS) workshop event held on Monday 2nd July 2007. SPIR is supporting the SCS by providing the following services:
- Data presentation to give a general picture of Walsall and to set the scene for the SCS workshop
- Inclusion of data within a State of the Borough report for Walsall
- Alignment of the State of the Borough report with the SCS
