Children and Young People's Trust Arrangements
What is the Walsall Children and Young People’s Trust?
There is a legal requirement for all local authorities to have Children’s Trust arrangements by 2008. Like all other local authorities, the Children and Young People’s Trust in Walsall is part of the government’s policy for improving children’s services locally.
The Children and Young People’s Trust is not an organisation. The Trust is about people working together in a joined up way to help children and young people, particularly the vulnerable, and to improve their life chances. The Children and Young People's Trust arrangements are the overall partnership in which agencies operate including social care, health, police, education, the voluntary sector and others.
What will the Walsall Children and Young People’s Trust Arrangements achieve?
In Every Child Matters, central government has outlined five outcomes for Children and Young People:

- Enjoy and achieve
- Make a positive contribution
- Achieve economic wellbeing

Our focus within the Trust is to enable all children in Walsall to reach their full potential by providing opportunities for learning and support, early intervention and effective prevention.
